Alex Martin is the husband of Suzanne Martin, who is a patient of Dr. Neil Melendez.

Season 3[]
In "Disaster" Alex Martin and his wife, Suzanne Martin rush in the ER of St. Bonaventure Hospital as Suzanne is bleeding on her abdomen, they say she has a uterine fibroid that has to be removed surgically. During surgery, they find out she has cancer that has metastasized everywhere. As Dr. Shaun Murphy is informing them with the information that is given he also says there is hope with surgery. Post-Op, Alex notices there's a bag by her side, Dr. Claire Browne says there were complications that made them remove a large portion of Suzanne's bowel and divert a waste through a stoma in her skin which resulted to her having an ileostomy bag. Claire says she'll have it forever and have to go to bathroom with it, they will teach her out to change is and dispose of it, Alex says they'll teach the both of them.
