Chukuma Modu is a British actor on The Good Doctor, who portrays the role of Dr. Jared Kalu.

Biography

Life and career

Chukuma "Chuku" Modu was born in Hammersmith, West London to a Nigerian/German father and Irish/English mother. From a very early age, he was interested in a variety of sports and took a keen liking to boxing, and began training in earnest at the age of 12 years. Modu also enjoyed the arts and regularly attended the theater as often as he could, specifically The Globe Theatre in London. Chuku became interested in performing in 2012 and enrolled at the Richmond Drama School. His past credits include a recurring role on HBO's "Game of Thrones" and New Line Cinema's "Me Before You."

In April 2018, it was confirmed that he would not be returning for Season 2 of The Good Doctor.

In February 2023, it was announced that Modu would return for Season 6 in a recurring capacity, with his permanent return for Season 7 as a series regular confirmed in January 2024.

Trivia

• Both Chuku Modu and Dylan Kingwell, who plays Steve Murphy and Evan Gallico, appeared in The 100, although they never shared a scene together in either show.
