Elle McLean is a "smart, confident and loyal"[1] surgical resident who works at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.

Season 1[]
Elle enters Residents' Room #357 and turns on the light, only to find Jared in the bed, who quickly makes some adjustments with the blanket. She asks him if he has seen Claire. Jared tells her to turn off the light, and asks her why she needs Claire. Elle tells him that Melendez wants to operate on 104 and Claire hasn't gotten informed consent, and she's ignoring her page. Jared tells her that he hasn't seen her and asks her once again to turn off the light. Elle says "sure" and leaves, leaving the light on. Right after that, Claire reveals herself next to Jared and starts to laugh with him, implying that they were having sex.[2]

- Despite her being credited as main cast in "Burnt Food", suggesting that she would be featured in Season 1, she only appears in the first episode.
- Her name is given as Sarah Chen on her lab coat.
