Ethicure Medical is a company owned by Salen Morrison that runs multiple hospitals in the USA. Ethicure focuses on patient satisfaction, often at the expense of the doctors working there. Salen bought the hospital and made many progressive reforms, which angered Shaun, who had grown a distaste for Salen early on. Later on, Salen is reveled to use unethical cost cutting measures and to interfere with patient treatment, and that plus staff unhappiness leds to Salen selling the hospital to Marcus Andrews.

At the end of "New Beginnings", Ethicure bought the hospital after Salen enters disguised as a patient.
In "Piece of Cake", Ethicure starts it's changes to St. Bonaventure Hospital, like new soap and scrubs, fitness bracelets, and patient satisfaction surveys. While most of the staff like these changes, some don't, most notably Dr. Murphy. Salen, despite not being a doctor, starts to take control of medical decisions, like patient discharges, in the name of cost cutting.
In "Cheat Day", after Salen unsuccessfully tries to Dr. Lim, Dr. Glassman, and Lea, she sells the hospital to her boyfriend, Dr. Andrews.
