"Expired" is the seventh episode of Season 5 of The Good Doctor. It is the eighty-third episode overall, and aired on November 22, 2021.
Synopsis[]
After visiting a possible wedding venue, Shaun and Lea happen upon a terrible car accident and discover a young pregnant woman who has been badly injured and needs immediate medical attention. Back at St. Bonaventure, Alma’s condition worsens, and Drs. Murphy, Lim and Allen are forced to deliver the baby prematurely. Meanwhile, Dr. Glassman is apprehensive when a figure from his past reaches out for help.

Shaun and Lea are looking for a church that meets all their criteria for the wedding ceremony. Lea wants to talk to Shaun about something but he doesn't listen to her. One church is almost perfect but its floors squeak when walked on.
Aaron is talking to his realtor, Shelly, about selling his house as soon possible. The house should be quick to sell and he's relieved. Llana, Aaron's ex-wife, shows up.
Shaun likes the church with the squeaky floors and wants to use it for the wedding. He's sure the floorboards will be replaced when he talks to the pastor about them. Again, Lea tries to talk to Shaun but they stumble across a car accident that requires their attention. Shaun rushes to help the first car, the driver of which has broken fingers; Lea calls Shaun from the other car, where a pregnant woman named Alma is experiencing tachycardia. Shaun performs a procedure to save Alma and tells her that she is very lucky as they usually don’t drive to work that way.
Aaron tells Llana that Debbie thought he was controlling and selfish so the two didn't work out. He wants to go to a small town in Montana, where nobody knows him and has no expectations of him. She notes that he has done this before, after Maddie's death. She says that she needs his assistance because her spouse, Sunil, is dying. His diagnosis is body dementia, which he has had for two years. They have found an experimental trial that uses deep brain stimulation to slow cognitive deterioration. She wants Aaron to look at it. Aaron tells her that there are more doctors that have more experience, to which she replies that she doesn’t want to waste the time they have left, she just wants to hear the truth.
Salen invites Morgan and Alex to a dinner with her and Marcus. Aaron goes to the hospital to help Ilana's husband, Sunil. As he says that they are going to do some tests, Sunil has a sudden memory loss and screams why he is at a hospital. Ilana tries to calm him down by showing him photos of their family.
Alex is looking over Sunil’s x-rays, he thinks he would be a good candidate for the experimental trial. Aaron joins him and looks at the x-rays. He tells Morgan that he is going to need his office back if she doesn’t mind. After looking at the images, Aaron says that Sunil might not have Lewy Body Dementia.
During a surgery, Shaun tells Audrey and Jordan that he wants them to wear socks at the wedding because the floor creaks in the church. Jordan says that there's no way she's gonna miss the opportunity to show off her new shoes. Alma is in a stable condition after the surgery. Shaun tells Alma that she has to make a choice; she either never walks again or she jeopordizes her baby's life. She tells him that she can't choose between herself and the baby, but Shaun says that she has to. Shaun visits Aaron in his office to talk. He tells him that the floor squeeks at the church. Glassman tells him that he isn't going to be around; he's selling his house and moving to Montana. Shaun asks him if he will be his best man, Aaron says yes. He tells Shaun that his partner is Lea now and he should talk to her, they can work out things from now on on their own.
