Harvey is a patient who was treated in San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital by Dr. Morgan Reznick and Dr. Alex Park.

History[]

Harvey and Ruby have been married for 45 years, they have two children named Rickey and Tammy. Harvey also has dementia which leads to Ruby always reminding him of his surroundings. He's had a history of kidney stones mentioned by Ruby.

Season 3[]

In "Disaster" Ruby came in with her husband Harvey, complaining of abdominal pain which led Dr. Alex Park and Dr. Morgan Reznick to admit him. While talking about their children, Morgan asks when the he first started to notice the pain, Harvey says this morning but Ruby corrects him by saying on Saturday. Ruby also adds that he has a history of kidney stones and tried to make him drink more water. Alex tells them its probably just a kidney stone and will do some imaging to rule out anything more serious. During imaging, the two doctors argue who touched the chart first as they can now have the opportunity to have a first lead surgery, during this argument Harvey joins in and ask what he's doing in here and once the scan had showed up they find out it's cancer.

When Ruby and Harvey were informed they were shocked. Morgan tells them that it's isolated and in a very operable location. Harvey tells Ruby to tell the kids when Alex says they will have to do a biopsy to confirm and says he's confident they caught it early. Harvey says its terrible and he can't die as Ruby needs him, Morgan adds that with surgery, radiation, and immunotheraphy that the prognosis is excellent. Morgan and Alex come back confirming that the cancer is renal cell carcinoma, Harvey forgets and started to get mad as they didn't tell him, Morgan says they did and repeats herself saying that it's treatable with surgery immunotherapy and radiation, Harvey is still confused and asks if he's dying, Morgan says it's serious and is interrupted by Alex who would like to talk to Ruby outside of Harvey's room. Outside, Ruby is informed that he would be able to live to 2-5 years without the surgery with very little discomfort and could be managed, Ruby says she's not going to let her husband die because caring for him is inconvenient, because she has to repeat a conversation and tells Alex to go to hell. Harvey is complaining of back pain on his left side and Morgan tells him that's where he had his biopsy, Harvey asks what biopsy and Morgan tells him he came in because he had kidney stones and turns out he didn't, he asks what it is and what's wrong, the two doctors didn't answer and Harvey turns to Ruby and asks the same thing, she says they didn't find stones and everything is gonna be okay, the pain will go away and they'll go home tonight. Later that night, Harvey got discharged and is being wheeled out of the hospital hand in hand with Ruby smiling.
