Kayla Snyder is the former college roommate of Claire Browne. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and after various treatments, her condition was deemed terminal.
History[]
Diagnosis[]

While at college, she was roommates with Claire Browne. She also met Dash and the two got married, having been with him for eight years. Unfortunately, Kayla was seen by Claire as a control freak who wanted to be in charge of everyone else's lives. This was especially the case with Claire whom Kayla believed needed pushing into things which never worked out for Claire. Eventually, Kayla was later diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Even though she underwent various chemotherapy treatments along with other treatments, her condition was concluded terminal.
While Kayla was sick, Claire regularly helped her and Dash out. Unfortunately, Kayla wouldn't let Dash help her. During a visit from Claire, Kayla began experiencing excruciating pain so Claire brought her and Dash to St. Bonaventure Hospital to see Dr. Neil Melendez with the hope of removing a mass to relieve some of her pain. After a successful surgery, the doctors found that she was, in fact, suitable for a clinical trial which she was initially denied from because she didn't fit the criteria. During this time, Kayla kept pushing Claire to go on a date with Dash, wanting them both to be happy when she was gone. Unfortunately, Claire got annoyed at Kayla's attitude and called her out over it. Despite a complication during the clinical procedure, Claire managed to fix the problem and the surgery was a success. It extended Kayla's life by six months, while she and Claire made amends. [2]

Kayla enjoyed the time she had left with Dash before she ultimately passed away. Dash later brought Claire some recipes Kayla had wanted her friend to have and asked Claire on a date. [1]
