The second season of the American television series, The Good Doctor, was ordered on March 7, 2018 by ABC[1], and premiered on September 24, 2018 on ABC[2]. It premiered in Canada on CTV on Mondays at 10pm.[3]

  • Chuku Modu did not return to the series following his character's departure (Dr. Jared Kalu) in the previous season's season finale, "More".[39]
    • He was however, in the first episode of Season 2, "Hello", albeit still credited as a series regular.[40]
  • Will Yun Lee, Fiona Gubelmann, Christina Chang and Paige Spara were promoted to series regulars.[39]
  • Lisa Edelstein will recur in the season and to which she is reunited with David Shore from which they worked together on their previous series House M.D. before she left after seven seasons.[41]
  • The table read for the first episode occurred on June 25, 2018, while filming began 2 days later on June 27, 2018.[42]
  • On September 19, 2018, it was announced that Beau Garrett (Jessica Preston) would not be returning for Season 2 of The Good Doctor.[43]
  • On January 9, 2019, it was announced that executive producer Daniel Dae Kim will return to his role on the show as the new Chief of Surgery of St. Bonaventure Hospital.[4]
  • On June 26, 2019 The Good Doctor was honored to receive The Most Watched Drama in the World award from the 2019 Monte Carlo TV Festival. [44]
  • On August 9, 2019 it was revealed via the shows official twitter handle that the second season was now available via DVD and digital. [45]
