The Good Doctor is a television show on ABC. It was developed by David Shore from the South Korean medical drama Good Doctor by Park Jae-bum.

The first season premiered on September 25, 2017 and concluded on March 26, 2018. It ran for 18 episodes.

The second season premiered on September 24, 2018 and concluded on March 11, 2019. It ran for 18 episodes.

The third season premiered on September 23, 2019 and concluded on March 30, 2020. It ran for 20 episodes.

The fourth season premiered on November 2, 2020 and concluded on June 7, 2020. It ran for 20 episodes.

The fifth season premiered on September 27, 2021 and concluded on May 17, 2022. It ran for 18 episodes.

On March 30, 2022, The Good Doctor was renewed for a sixth season.[3] It will run for 22 episodes.


Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, who relocates from a quiet country life to join the prestigious St. Bonaventure hospital's surgical unit. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, his only advocate, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), challenges the skepticism and prejudices of the hospital's board and staff when he brings him in to join the team. Shaun will need to work harder than he ever has before, as he navigates his new environment and relationships to prove to his colleagues that his extraordinary medical gifts will save lives.[4]
